Dr. Juliano Schorne-Pinto is a Research Professor in Mechanical Engineering at the University of South Carolina's Molinaroli College of Engineering and Computing. He holds a Ph.D. in Materials Science from the National Polytechnic Institute of Toulouse and dual M.S./B.S. degrees in Materials Engineering.
His research encompasses thermodynamic modeling and experimental characterization of advanced materials for nuclear applications including molten salts, nuclear fuels, ceramics and alloys. He leads development of the Molten Salt Thermal Properties Database (MSTDB-TC) for reactor design.
Publications focus on predictive modeling of thermophysical properties and phase behavior in complex salt systems. Recent work addresses material challenges in next-generation nuclear reactors and waste forms.
