Julianne R. Pekarthy is a Lecturer in the Department of Sociology & Interdisciplinary Social Science at San José State University (SJSU), where she has taught since Fall 2004. She holds a Master of Arts in Sociology from California State University, San Jose (2000), and previously taught at DeAnza and Foothill Colleges in the Bay Area for 9 years before joining SJSU. Her research and teaching focus on gender, family dynamics, socialization processes, and social stratification.
Her academic career spans over a decade in higher education, emphasizing sociological perspectives on societal structures and inequalities. Office hours are held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:25–4:30 PM, with preferred communication via email at julianne.pekarthy@sjsu.edu.
