Juliane Koch is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Economics, Lund University. Her research lies at the intersection of behavioral economics, environmental economics, and development economics, focusing on collective action problems related to natural resource preservation and international environmental agreements. She emphasizes fairness, inequality, and social norms in her work and employs empirical methods such as economic experiments in field, laboratory, and online settings, particularly in non-WEIRD countries.
At Lund University, she teaches Development Economics (a second-year bachelor's course) and delivers guest lectures on Climate Economics in the Microeconomic Theory with Applications course. She actively supervises bachelor's and master's theses in behavioral economics, environmental economics, and development economics. Her work aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in economics and social sciences.
Her research projects include the Excellence Programme for Sustainable Development (2021–2027) and participation in academic activities such as presentations at the Copenhagen Network for Experimental Economists, European Association for Environmental and Resource Economics (EAERE) conferences, and workshops like 'Experiments for the Environment.' She contributes to understanding climate economics, water scarcity, and biodiversity through experimental approaches.
