Dr. Juliane Bendig serves as a Research Fellow at Plant Sciences (IBG-2) within the Institute of Bio- and Geosciences at Forschungszentrum Jülich, with additional affiliation to the FLEX Project Office. Her position focuses on advancing optical remote sensing methodologies for vegetation analysis.
Her research centers on drone-based remote sensing systems, solar-induced chlorophyll fluorescence measurement, and precision agriculture technologies. Key projects involve sensor calibration for vegetation monitoring and preparation for ESA's FLEX Earth Explorer mission, which aims to globally assess plant photosynthetic activity through space-based fluorescence detection. This work directly supports sustainable agricultural development by improving resource efficiency and climate adaptation strategies.
At Forschungszentrum Jülich, Dr. Bendig contributes to the Plant Sciences department's mission of developing sustainable plant production solutions through integrated molecular, physiological, and ecological approaches. Her expertise in UAV platforms and SIF measurement provides critical tools for next-generation plant phenotyping and bioeconomy applications.
