Julian Raxworthy is an Associate Professor and Discipline Lead in Landscape Architecture at the University of Canberra's Faculty of Art and Design. He holds a PhD from the University of Queensland and has held tenured faculty roles at RMIT, Queensland University of Technology, and the University of Cape Town. His research focuses on decolonizing landscape practices, urban morphology, and the intersection of parametric design with gardening traditions. Raxworthy's work bridges theory and practice, emphasizing the materiality of plants (the 'viridic') and their agency in design. His books, including *Overgrown* (2018) and *Sunburnt* (2011), explore these themes. Awards include a Graham Foundation Grant and a 2024 National Landscape Architecture Award for the University of Canberra HUB Courtyard project.
