Julian Faraway is Professor of Statistics at the University of Bath's Department of Mathematical Sciences. His research bridges statistical theory and applications across diverse fields including astronomy, mental health, facial motion analysis, and wastewater epidemiology. He holds a PhD from UC Berkeley and a BA from Cambridge University.
Current projects include wastewater-based epidemiology for COVID-19 tracking and statistical capacity building in Mongolia. His methodological work includes curve/shape analysis and developing R packages for statistical modeling. He serves on the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Statistical Applied Mathematics.
