Julian Barwell

Julian Barwell is Professor in Genomic Medicine at the University of Leicester and consultant clinical geneticist at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. He specializes in inherited cancer susceptibility and genomic medicine implementation.

Runs specialist clinics for inherited cancer syndromes, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, Von Hippel-Lindau syndrome and Neurofibromatosis type 2. Research focuses on hereditary cancer risk assessment and genomic medicine delivery.

Leads the rare disease component of the 100,000 Genomes Project in Leicester and develops digital tools for genetic education. Authored books on clinical genetics and developed YouTube educational channels.
