Julia Steggerda-Corey is an Instructor of Law and Director of the Compliance and Risk Management Program at Drake University Law School. She holds an LLM and JD (summa cum laude, Order of the Coif) from Drake, and a BA (summa cum laude) from Pepperdine University. Her expertise spans Administrative Law, Race and the Law, Legal Writing, and International Law.
Her research focuses on systemic inequities in legal frameworks impacting marginalized groups, including transracial adoptees and Muslim women. Recent work addresses NCAA liability for racial harassment and reforming adoption laws. She actively engages in DEI advocacy through training programs, Mock Trial coaching, and public speaking on topics like the #MeToo Movement and hair discrimination legislation.
