Julia Sevilla

Professor Julia Sevilla has been a faculty member at the Universitat de València since 1980, specializing in Constitutional Law, Political and Administrative Sciences. Her research focuses on the role of women in legislative processes, particularly their contributions to Spain's 1978 constitutional transition. She is a graduate in Law from the Universitat de València and has held roles as Lawyer of Cortes Valencianas and founder of feminist organizations such as Mujeres Progresistas and Red feminista de Derecho Constitucional. Her work The Constituents highlights women's parliamentary contributions during Spain's democratic transition, funded by the Council of Ministers' equality initiatives (2005).

She actively participates in academic and cultural events, such as the 'Women and Literature' cycle at La Nau Cultural Centre (2017–2018), which celebrated Sister Isabel de Villena as Writer of the Year. This initiative, organized with the Acadèmia Valenciana de la Llengua, emphasized women's historical contributions to law, education, and literature.
