Julia Schmid

Dr. Julia Schmid is a former staff member of the Research Department Market Behavior at the WZB Berlin Social Science Center. She served as Head of Personnel Development and Research Funding since May 2016, and previously held roles including Research Fellow (2009–2016) and Research Assistant at TU Berlin's Institute of Economics (2004–2009). She earned a PhD in Economics (summa cum laude) from TU Berlin in 2010 and a Diploma in Economics from Humboldt University Berlin in 2003.

Her research focuses on decision-making mechanisms, strategic interaction, and experimental economics, particularly exploring envy, regret, and reciprocity in employment and competitive settings. She has contributed to understanding cascade behavior, relational contracts, and exclusion dynamics in economic experiments.
