Julia Röttgermann is a Research Associate at the University of Trier's Trier Center for Digital Humanities (TCDH), affiliated with the Department of Computational Linguistics and Digital Humanities. She has been working at Prof. Dr. Schöch's chair since 2018 and contributes to the MiMoText research project focused on mining and modeling literary texts since 2019. Her academic background includes French Studies from Freie Universität Berlin and Université de Provence, with a thesis on playwright Yasmina Reza.
Her research bridges 18th-century French literature and Digital Humanities methodologies. Primary interests include computational analysis of Enlightenment-era French novels through techniques like topic modeling, sentiment analysis, and Linked Open Data frameworks. She explores how digital tools can reveal patterns in literary history and affect representation in historical texts.
Röttgermann's publications demonstrate consistent focus on computational literary studies, with recent works exploring knowledge networks, semantic data modeling, and automated extraction of thematic elements from French literary corpora. Her research consistently applies Digital Humanities approaches to Enlightenment literature.
She teaches courses including Digital Objects: Edition and Publication and Digital Knowledge Production, and regularly presents at DH conferences like DHd. She maintains memberships in Digital Humanities im deutschsprachigen Raum (DHd) and Deutscher Romanistenverband (DRV).
