Dr. Julia Muravska is a Visiting Senior Research Fellow at the Freeman Air and Space Institute, affiliated with the School of Security Studies and Department of War Studies. She specializes in Ukrainian defence capability development, defence industrial policy, and innovation in conflict zones. With 14 years of experience, she advises on policy, management consulting, and academia, focusing on NATO integration and European security. She holds a PhD and MSc from the London School of Economics (LSE) and an Honours BA from the University of Toronto.
Her research emphasizes Ukraine's defence innovation ecosystem, particularly drone technology and strike UAVs, as highlighted in her publications analyzing air defence systems and NATO challenges. She collaborates with Freeman Air & Space, which provides analysis on air and space power issues, and has written extensively on consolidating wartime ingenuity in Ukraine's military efforts. Her work bridges civilian and military innovation to enhance offensive capabilities and future defence strategies.
