Dr. Julia Dshemuchadse is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Cornell University's College of Engineering. She holds a Diploma in Physics from TU Dresden and a Ph.D. in Materials Science from ETH Zurich, followed by postdoctoral work at the University of Michigan funded by Swiss National Science Foundation fellowships.
Her research focuses on fundamental principles of crystal structure formation and stability, combining hard and soft condensed matter approaches through computational modeling. Key interests include advanced materials design, colloidal assembly, and structural analysis of complex intermetallic compounds.
Dr. Dshemuchadse co-authored the book Intermetallics – Structures, Properties, and Statistics (Oxford University Press, 2016). Recent work includes computational discovery of novel self-assembled crystal structures and visualization of solid-solid phase transitions at the particle level.
