Jules Gibbs is a Part-Time Lecturer in the Department of English at Syracuse University's College of Arts and Sciences. She specializes in poetry, creative writing, and literary criticism, with a focus on cultural studies and social justice themes. Gibbs is the author of poetry collections Snakes & Babies (2021) and Bliss Crisis (2012), both from The Sheep Meadow Press, as well as a chapbook. Her work has been featured in The American Poetry Review and The Progressive, where she serves as poetry editor. Additionally, she curates the Cruel April reading series and is involved with Punto de Contacto Gallery.
Gibbs has received awards including the Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Foundation Award in Poetry and fellowships from the Ucross Foundation and Virginia Center for Creative Arts. Her research explores intersections of identity, culture, and literary expression, with notable contributions to Native American literature and cultural criticism.
