Juie Shetye is a researcher in the Department of Physics at the University of Warwick, affiliated with the Centre for Fusion, Space and Astrophysics. She holds a PhD in Physics from Queen's University Belfast (2017), with prior degrees from the University of Mumbai (BSc 2008, MSc 2010) and a Master's in Space Science from University College London (UCL, 2012). Her research focuses on solar atmospheric dynamics, particularly spicules, chromospheric swirls, and magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) waves. She has conducted observational studies using advanced solar telescopes and collaborates internationally.
Shetye's educational background includes roles as a tutor in physics and mathematics at Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education and Gurukul Academy. She advises Nuffield Project and URSS summer students. Her work has been featured in journals like Astrophysical Journal and Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society. She actively engages in public outreach via initiatives like Space-grounds (science-themed playground games) and Abstract Physics art projects merging science and art.
Additional contributions include organizing community projects like Kenilworth Station Gardening to promote ecological awareness. Her research emphasizes interdisciplinary approaches, linking solar physics with broader astrophysical phenomena and public engagement.
