Juha Kauppila is a University Lecturer at the University of Eastern Finland (UEF), affiliated with the School of Educational Sciences and Psychology within the Philosophical Faculty. His work focuses on adult education, generational studies, and lifelong learning, emphasizing societal well-being and intergenerational dynamics.
- Research Interests: Adult education policy, generational conflicts, sustainable development, civic engagement, and educational sociology.
- Key Projects: HEART (intangible cultural heritage through learning), Sus21 (education and sustainability), and WEL (web-based learning pedagogies).
His research explores adult education's role in societal structures, including market-based policies, intergenerational learning, and the integration of diverse generational experiences. Recent articles address topics such as adult learners' challenges in balancing work and family, well-being support systems, and historical generational perspectives.
Professional activities include leading the Lifelong Learning and Sustainable Development research group and contributing to international educational initiatives like the International Bachelor’s Program in Lifelong Learning.
