Judy Dyer is a Senior Lecturer at the English Language Institute (ELI) within the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts at the University of Michigan, where she has taught since 2000. Her work spans academic writing, speaking, and pronunciation instruction, alongside ESL teacher training and materials development.

Her research focuses on language acquisition, identity construction, and pedagogical strategies in writing tutorials. She has led international projects, including a US Aid-funded initiative in Algeria and textbook development in China. Current courses include Community-Engaged Learning in ESL Teaching Contexts and Dissertation Writing and Writing for Publication I.
