Professor Judy Clegg is a leading academic in Speech and Language Therapy at the University of Sheffield, affiliated with the School of Allied Health Professions, Nursing and Midwifery. She combines clinical expertise with academic leadership as Interim Dean and founder of the Small Talk Clinic for preschool children with communication disorders.

Research Interests: Her work focuses on communication disorders across the lifespan, particularly in socioeconomically deprived populations and criminal justice systems. Key areas include:

Publications & Projects: As Co-PI of the £1.8M INTERACT Trial (NIHR 2023-2027), she investigates Intensive Interaction for profound learning disabilities. Her recent Elklan-funded program (2021-2023) addresses vocabulary development in DLD children.
