Juditha Aga is a Research Fellow in the Department of Geosciences at the University of Oslo, affiliated with the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. She is part of the Cryosphere research group and the Section for Physical Geography and Hydrology. Her work focuses on permafrost dynamics, numerical modeling of geohazards, and Arctic environmental changes. She has taught courses such as GEO1110 and GEO4034, contributing to both research and education in geosciences.
Education: B.Sc. Geosciences (University of Heidelberg, 2010–2013), M.Sc. Engineering Geology and Hydrogeology (Technical University of Munich, 2014–2017), PhD in Permafrost Modeling (University of Oslo, 2019–present). Professional experience includes consulting engineering in hydrology (Isar Consult GmbH, 2017–2019).
Research Interests: Permafrost dynamics, geohazards (e.g., coastal erosion), numerical modeling of environmental processes. Her work investigates Arctic climate impacts on permafrost, infrastructure resilience, and cryospheric processes through field observations and computational models.
Recent publications emphasize climate-driven changes in Arctic environments, including permafrost degradation, coastal cliff instability, and cryosphere modeling. No scientific awards mentioned. No advisees or grants listed. Active in the Cryosphere research group and affiliated with the Department of Geosciences.
