Judith van Laar is an Assistant Professor in the Signal Processing Systems group at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) and a practicing gynecologist at Máxima Medical Center. Her research focuses on technological advancements for fetal health monitoring, including applications in maternal diabetes, preterm birth prediction, and uterine activity analysis. She leads projects in biomedical diagnostics, leveraging machine learning and signal processing techniques. Affiliated with TU/e’s EAISI research institute and Eindhoven MedTech Innovation Center, her work bridges engineering and clinical medicine. Key contributions include studies on seasonal preterm birth patterns and fetal strain analysis via speckle tracking echocardiography.
