She leads the Brainlab - Cognitive Neuroscience Research Group and has coordinated multiple research projects since 2014. Her work focuses on neurophysiological mechanisms of emotional processing, particularly through intracranial recordings and single-neuron studies in humans.
Research interests include amygdala function, auditory threat detection, and limbic system dynamics. She has secured grants from institutions like the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNF) and the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, Spain. Notable projects include studies on subcortical auditory threat pathways and emotional attention modulation. Her publications explore neural responses to sensory stimuli and emotional regulation strategies.
Judith has coordinated interdisciplinary teaching innovation projects at the UB’s Institute of Educational Sciences, investigating trust-based grading systems and curricular evaluation. Despite no listed awards, her research contributions are evident through high-impact publications in Neuropsychologia and Biological Psychology. She oversees the HumanSUBthreat project (2023-2028), funded by Consolidator Grants, furthering understanding of subcortical threat processing pathways.
