Judit Árokay

Judit Árokay is a Professor of Japanese Studies (Literature and Cultural Studies) at Heidelberg University since 2007. She is an Ordinary Member of the Academy of Europe (Classics & Oriental Studies section) and has held research fellowships at Freie Universität Berlin and Hamburg University.

• Fields of Scholarship: Classical Japanese literature, Japanese poetry, poetics, rhetoric, gender research, literary geography, self-narratives, and Edo period identity discourses.

• Guest Professor at Ôsaka University (2011-2012)
• Guest Professor at Chûô University (2008)
