Dr. Judd Case is a Professor in the Biology Department at Eastern Washington University. He holds a PhD in evolutionary biology from the University of California, Riverside. His research focuses on vertebrate paleontology, evolution, and biogeography, particularly studying marsupials and Antarctic dinosaurs. He has conducted nine field seasons in Antarctica, discovering new dinosaur species like a raptor dinosaur and hadrosaur, and uncovering evidence suggesting Antarctica as a center for modern bird origins. His work also includes marine reptile fossils such as a baby plesiosaur. Dr. Case frequently involves students in field expeditions to Antarctica and Australia.
His research is supported by National Science Foundation grants. He has published significant findings in paleontology, contributing to understanding Mesozoic vertebrate ecosystems and evolutionary patterns. His fieldwork spans over four decades, combining fossil discovery with ecological and biogeographic analysis.
