Juan Pons Bauzá

Dr. Juan Pons Bauzá serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Basic Psychology at the Faculty of Psychology, University of the Balearic Islands, and maintains dual affiliations with the Institute for Sport Research (IRE) at the Autonomous University of Barcelona and the Human Evolution and Cognition (EvoCog) research group.

He earned his PhD in Health and Sport Psychology in 2018, with research centered on psychological well-being in athletic contexts. His work examines personal and environmental factors influencing athletes across performance and sport initiation settings, spanning Sport Psychology, Health Psychology, and Cognitive Psychology domains.

Dr. Pons Bauzá has contributed to 12 research projects (7 international, 5 national) and published over 20 papers in indexed journals. His applied work involves collaborations with sports clubs and institutions to integrate sport psychology into organizational frameworks, addressing areas like Emotion, Motivation, and Public Health.

In teaching, he instructs foundational courses including Motivation and Emotion, Perception and Attention, and Cognition and the Brain across Psychology, Physical Activity and Sport Sciences, and Speech Therapy degree programs. He supervises Final Degree Projects and maintains active academic profiles on Google Scholar, ORCID, and ResearchGate.
