Juan Ordóñez, Ph.D., is a Professor and Director of the Energy Systems Center (ESC) at the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering. He holds a Ph.D. from Duke University (2003) and academic appointments in Mechanical Engineering. His primary affiliations include the Department of Mechanical Engineering and the Advanced Power Systems (CAPS) initiative.

Research focuses on:
- Thermodynamic optimization of energy systems
- Computational heat transfer
- Advanced power systems including SOFC-GT hybrids and fuel cells

- Optimization of PV cell architecture
- Constructal theory applications (T-Y flow constructs)
- Regenerative fuel cell systems
