Dr. Juan A. Recio García is an Associate Professor at the Department of Software Engineering and Artificial Intelligence within the School of Computer Science at Complutense University of Madrid (UCM). He holds the BOSCH-UCM Honorary Chair on Artificial Intelligence applied to Internet of Things. His research focuses on Case-Based Reasoning (CBR), Explainable AI (XAI), and Recommender Systems, with applications in healthcare, security, and urban planning.
He has led two projects as Principal Investigator and participated in six R&D initiatives, including four national and two European grants. His work includes the development of the COLIBRI platform, a CBR system with over 35,000 downloads. He has co-authored 67 publications, including 16 JCR-indexed articles, and received a best paper award and an honourable mention from the International Conference on CBR (ICCBR).
