João Viseu

João Viseu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Évora's School of Social Sciences, where he has been teaching since September 2022. He maintains dual research affiliations with the Center for Education and Psychology Research (CIEP-UÉ) at the University of Évora and the Research Centre for Tourism, Sustainability and Well-being (CinTurs), where he has been a researcher since 2013. Previously, he served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Algarve from 2017 to 2022.

Professor Viseu earned his Psychology Degree from Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa (2006-2009), followed by a Master's in Social and Organizational Psychology from Universidade do Algarve (2009-2011), and completed his PhD in Psychology at Universidade do Algarve in 2017. His doctoral work was supported by a Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia fellowship.

His research program focuses on positive psychological capital, occupational well-being, work design, and positive workplaces, with particular attention to teacher well-being, job crafting, and work-family conflict. Recent publications demonstrate increasing interest in pandemic-related impacts on workplace psychology and systematic reviews of psychological constructs. His methodological approach combines psychometric validation with quantitative analysis of workplace phenomena.

Professor Viseu's publication output shows consistent productivity across multiple domains, with recent emphasis on validation studies of psychological instruments, systematic literature reviews, and context-specific applications of positive psychology principles in education and hospitality sectors. His work bridges theoretical psychological frameworks with practical workplace applications.
