João Manuel Lopes De Almeida

João Manuel Lopes De Almeida is a PhD candidate in Business and Economics at the University of Aveiro and a Research Fellow at the Governance, Competitiveness and Public Policy (GOVCOPP) research unit. He holds a Master's Degree in Management and a Degree in Languages and Business Relations from the same university. His research focuses on entrepreneurship education, ecosystems, innovation, and rural development in low-density territories. He is a guest lecturer at the University of Maia, teaching Entrepreneurship, and actively contributes to projects like RESILIENT, CeNTER, and the "Entrepreneurial University" initiative, funded by FCT. João is also co-founder and coordinator of Rural Move, a non-profit promoting rural repopulation, and serves on advisory boards such as the Council for Reflection and Action on the Interior and COM.Estrela Incubator.

His work examines governance models for entrepreneurial ecosystems, post-pandemic resilience, and the role of student-led organizations in regional development. Key publications explore territorial innovation, low-density governance, and the impact of junior enterprises. João's interdisciplinary approach bridges academia, policy, and community-led initiatives to foster sustainable regional growth.
