معرفی
João Lopes Dias is a Professor and Vice-President for Academic Affairs at the School of Economics and Management (ISEG) of the University of Lisbon. He holds a PhD in Mathematics from the University of Cambridge (2002) and an Agregação in Applied Mathematics from ISEG (2011). His research focuses on dynamical systems, with particular emphasis on billiards dynamics, hyperbolicity, Lyapunov exponents, and Hamiltonian systems. He has led the Mathematics Department at ISEG and coordinated the research center CEMAPRE.
- Education: Licenciatura in Engineering Physics (IST, 1996), PhD (Cambridge, 2002), Agregação (ISEG, 2011).
- Professional Roles: Vice-President of ISEG, former head of Mathematics Department, and coordinator of CEMAPRE.
His research explores chaotic dynamics and geometric properties of dynamical systems, with notable contributions to billiard models and SRB measures. Over 20 published articles since 2002 reflect his expertise in these areas.
Dr. Dias has supervised multiple master’s theses on topics such as stochastic processes in finance, Lotka-Volterra equations, and fractal geometry. His work bridges pure mathematics with applications in economics and physics.
