Jozef Ristvej is a Professor at the Department of Crisis Management, Faculty of Security Engineering, University of Žilina. He currently serves as the Vice-Rector for International Relations and Marketing at the University of Žilina and has been a faculty member since 2004. He was the European Commission's Erasmus Program Ambassador for Slovakia (2012/2013).

Research Interests: Focuses on implementing information systems and technologies to support decision-making in crisis management, systems modeling and simulations, and addressing the economic consequences of disasters. His work spans disaster economics, public administration, and security technology.
Publication Trends: Recent articles emphasize smart city initiatives, crisis management systems, and simulation technologies for risk prevention. Collaborative projects with international institutions (USA, China, Italy) highlight his interdisciplinary approach.
