- Media performance collective: RUDY (Chapel Hill, active 2003-200)
Her research investigates how information technology reshapes cognitive experience, sensory perception, and societal navigation. Work spans installations, performances, and procedural environments that challenge traditional art conventions through interactivity and critical making. She emphasizes transient media qualities, requiring viewer participation to complete her conceptual artworks.
As an academic artist, she leverages tenure to experiment beyond art market constraints, questioning technology’s role in redefining human identity and social structures. Her 2005 College Art Association presentation outlined four visual culture shifts: convergence of art/entertainment/information, sensory overload expectations, new narrative forms, and real-time experience demands.
