José Cueto is a Lecturer in the Performing Arts Department at St. Mary's College of Maryland. As a violinist and chamber musician, he has performed globally with ensembles such as the Kennedy Center Chamber Players, Washington Chamber Society, and Melos Ensemble, collaborating with renowned artists like Gervase de Peyer. His career spans teaching, performance, and leadership roles, including concertmaster of Concert Artists of Baltimore and Chesapeake Festival Orchestra, and co-founding the chamber ensemble Alborada with pianist Nancy Roldán.
- Earned bachelor's and master's degrees from Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University under Berl Senofsky.
- Recognized for technical mastery and rich tone by critics (El Mundo, San Juan) and STRAD magazine.
- Active in premiering contemporary chamber music by composers of the Américas.
