Dr. Joshua Simmich is a Research Fellow at The University of Queensland's RECOVER Injury Research Centre and part of the technology-enabled rehabilitation team led by Professor Trevor Russell. His work focuses on leveraging technology such as active video games, wearable sensors, and artificial intelligence to enhance physical activity, rehabilitation efficacy, and health services delivery. Key areas of focus include chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) management, traumatic brain injury (TBI) rehabilitation, and digital health tools for pain monitoring.

Research Interests: Joshua explores how telemedicine, serious games, and AI-driven health interventions can improve patient engagement, adherence to rehabilitation programs, and accessibility of care.
