Joshua Pierce is a Professor at the University of Alabama, holding the Robert Hunt Cochrane/Alabama Bankers Endowed Chair of Banking, and a Visiting Professor of Banking at the Booth School of Business, University of Chicago. His research and teaching focus on Finance, Banking, and Corporate Finance, with significant contributions to understanding financial constraints, capital structure, and CEO turnover.

Dr. Pierce's research spans topics in corporate finance, including bank lending dynamics, financial constraints, optimal capital structure, and executive turnover. His work has been published in top-tier journals such as the Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Business, and Financial Management. He has received multiple awards for his research, including two Michael Brennan awards for best papers in the Review of Financial Studies.
