Joshua McMullen, Ph.D., is the Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences and Assistant Provost for Undergraduate Studies at Regent University. He holds an Associate Professorship in History. His academic credentials include a Ph.D. and M.A. in History from the University of Missouri—Columbia, M.A. degrees in Theology and Church History from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, and bachelor’s degrees in Biblical Literature and Christian Education from Taylor University.
McMullen’s research focuses on cultural and religious history of the United States, with notable publications including Under the Big Top: Big Tent Revivalism and American Culture (Oxford UP, 2015) and The Glacier Priest: Father Bernard Hubbard and America’s Last Frontier (Notre Dame Press, 2025). He has contributed to peer-reviewed journals, academic books, and media outlets like Christianity Today and the Christian Science Monitor.
