Joshua Hug serves as an Associate Teaching Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences (EECS) at the University of California, Berkeley's College of Engineering, where he teaches foundational computer science courses including Data Structures (CS 61B) and Discrete Mathematics (CS 70) across multiple lecture sections.
His educational background features a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from UC Berkeley (2011) and a B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin (2003).
Hug's research centers on Computer Science Education and Generative Art, developing innovative pedagogical approaches for undergraduate instruction with particular focus on data structures and discrete mathematics curricula.
His distinguished contributions to teaching have been recognized through:
