Dr. Joshua Duntley is an Associate Professor of Criminal Justice and Director of the Honors Program at Stockton University (Galloway, NJ). He co-directs the Stockton CSI summer camp for high school students and collaborates with Professor David Buss on research projects, including a Texas VAWA Grant-funded study on stalking and the development of www.stalkinghelp.org. His research focuses on violence, victimization, human mating strategies, and evolutionary psychology.
Education: B.A. in Psychology from Plattsburgh State University (NY), Ph.D. in Individual Differences and Evolutionary Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin. His academic mentors included David Buss, Joseph Horn, and Peter MacNeilage.
Research interests span homicide, coalitional aggression, terrorism, stalking, fear, sexual aggression, and free speech. He explores these topics through evolutionary frameworks, examining how human behaviors and defenses evolved in response to environmental and social pressures.
Grants include funding from the Texas Governor’s Office Criminal Justice Division and the Hogg Foundation for Mental Health. His work bridges evolutionary theory with applied criminal justice, emphasizing practical interventions like stalking prevention resources.
