معرفی
Josh Reynolds is a Research Fellow in the Department of Life Sciences (Silwood Park) at Imperial College London, affiliated with the Faculty of Natural Sciences. His research focuses on using population genomics to understand the demography of Anopheles gambiae mosquitoes, critical vectors of malaria in sub-Saharan Africa. He is supervised by Prof. Austin Burt and Dr. Vassiliki Koufopanou.
His work leverages genomic data from the Anopheles gambiae 1000 Genome Project (Ag1000G) to develop new methods for quantifying demographic parameters like migration and population size. He is funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and Open Philanthropy through the Target Malaria project, and participates in the Science and Solutions for a Changing Planet Doctoral Training Programme (SSCP DTP) at Imperial's Grantham Institute.
Key research themes include analyzing shared haplotype patterns in genomic data to address challenges in malaria control, such as insecticide resistance and gene drive deployment.
