Dr. Josh Denham is a Senior Lecturer in Clinical Exercise Physiology/Sport and Exercise Science at the University of Southern Queensland's School of Health and Medical Sciences. He holds a PhD in Biomedical Science (molecular biology) and researches exercise impacts on telomere biology, epigenetics, and healthy aging.
His research explores molecular mechanisms linking exercise to biological aging, including telomere dynamics and epigenetic modifications. Recent publications focus on exercise oncology, telomerase functions in aging, and equine exercise physiology.
Denham received the ACHPER Masters Thesis Distinction Award (2012) for his work on endurance exercise and leukocyte telomere length. He supervises graduate research on telomere biology, cycling performance, and exercise interventions for special populations.
As Director of the Clinical Exercise Physiology program, he oversees student-led health initiatives and maintains collaborations with international research teams studying exercise biochemistry and translational medicine.
