Josephine Berry is a Professor at the Royal College of Art (RCA), School of Arts & Humanities, specializing in art theory and cultural politics. She teaches on the Contemporary Art Practice MA and supervises PhD students. Her research focuses on intersections of art with (bio)power, globalisation, digital networks, and environmental crises. She co-authored No Room to Move: Radical Art and the Regenerate City and edited volumes for Mute Books. Berry also teaches at Goldsmiths, University of London, and collaborates with the Post-Media Lab. Her latest book, Planetary Realism: Art Against Apocalypse (2025), explores art’s role in ecological transformation. Current research addresses degrowth strategies and decarbonising the imagination.
