Joseph Torchia

Joseph Torchia is a Lecturer in the Department of English at Monmouth University. His work focuses on pedagogical dynamics in composition classrooms and the interplay of logic and emotion in language.

Torchia explores student-teacher power sharing in writing pedagogy and analyzes rhetorical patterns in everyday speech. His teaching emphasizes critical engagement with literary texts spanning Neoclassical to contemporary works.

He teaches core courses including College Composition I/II (EN 101/102), Literature II: Neoclassical to the Present (EN 202), and Writing Workshop (EN 100). Office hours are held Mondays 1:00-2:30pm, Wednesdays 9:00-11:30am, and by appointment.
