Joseph Parent is a Professor of Political Science at the University of Notre Dame, affiliated with the College of Arts and Letters. He specializes in international relations theory, security studies, grand strategy, and foreign policy. He holds a BA from the University of Chicago (1999) and a PhD from Columbia University (2006). His research focuses on power shifts and cooperation dynamics, with notable works including Uniting States (2011) and American Conspiracy Theories (2014, co-authored). He has advised the National Intelligence Council on global trends and holds a Fulbright Fellowship (Rome) and a Nobel Fellowship (Oslo). He directs the Hans J. Morgenthau Program in Grand Strategy and edits Columbia University Press’s Studies in International Order and Politics series.
