Dr. Joseph Mante is a Professor at Robert Gordon University's School of Law & Social Sciences, where he has established himself as a leading scholar at the intersection of law and emerging technologies. His academic journey began with extensive private legal practice in Ghana, followed by a PhD in Construction Dispute Resolution from the University of Wolverhampton. At RGU, he has held significant leadership roles including course leadership of the LLM Construction Law and Arbitration programme and Research Degrees Coordinator overseeing the School's PhD programme. Most recently, he designed and led the validation of the Doctor of Law (DLaw) professional doctorate programme.
Professor Mante's research interests span multiple interconnected domains, with a primary focus on how legal frameworks adapt to technological advancements. His work examines blockchain applications and smart contracts in construction law and dispute resolution, international arbitration (particularly with African contexts), construction law including FIDIC and NEC contracts, and the principles of mutual trust and cooperation in contractual relationships.
