Joseph Luzzi is the Asher B. Edelman Professor of Literature at Bard College. Specializing in Italian literature, Renaissance studies, and cultural history, his work bridges literary analysis with personal narrative, as seen in his memoir In a Dark Wood. He holds a Ph.D. from 2000 and has authored several acclaimed books, including The Innocents of Florence (2025) and My Two Italies (2014).
