Joseph Jankovic, M.D., is a Professor and Distinguished Chair in Movement Disorders at Baylor College of Medicine. He serves as the Founder and Director of the Parkinson's Disease Center and Movement Disorders Clinic (PDCMDC), recognized as a Center of Excellence by multiple organizations. He completed his Neurology training at Columbia University and has been at Baylor since 1977.
Education: MD from University of Arizona College of Medicine (1973), Neurology certifications from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Research focuses on Parkinson’s disease, movement disorders, and experimental therapeutics. He has published over 1,200 articles and 55 books, with extensive clinical trial leadership in movement disorder treatments. Awards include the NIH Great Teacher Award and numerous society recognitions.
Leadership roles include past presidency of the International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society and the International Neurotoxin Association. He mentors many trainees who have become leaders in neurology.
