Joseph E. Gonzalez

Joseph Gonzalez is Associate Professor at UC Berkeley EECS, co-directing the RISE and Sky Computing Labs. He leads the Gorilla project advancing open-source large language model research and develops systems like vLLM for efficient LLM serving. His research spans cloud computing, distributed ML, and AI-hardware co-design.

Professor Gonzalez founded Turi Inc. (acquired by Apple) based on his GraphLab/PowerGraph systems. Current projects include LLM agent frameworks, adaptive cloud infrastructures, and edge-device ML deployment. He collaborates with industry partners to scale generative AI applications.
