Joseph Chen

Joseph Chen is a Professor of Biology at San Francisco State University (SFSU), affiliated with the College of Science and Engineering since 2006. He holds a B.S. from Harvey Mudd College and a Ph.D. in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics from Harvard University, followed by postdoctoral research at Stanford University's Department of Developmental Biology.

His research focuses on bacterial genetics and molecular microbiology, particularly the mechanisms governing subcellular organization in Caulobacter crescentus and Sinorhizobium meliloti.
