Joseph Boninger serves as a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Boston College, contributing to the department's mission of advancing mathematical knowledge through research and teaching excellence.
His research interests align with the department's primary focus areas:
- Geometry/Topology: Encompassing dynamics, Heegaard-Floer homology, hyperbolic geometry, and three-dimensional manifolds
- Number Theory/Representation Theory: Including analytic number theory, automorphic forms, Galois representations, and the Langlands program
- Algebraic Geometry: Covering birational geometry, derived categories, and the geometry of moduli spaces
As part of Boston College's Mathematics Department with 37 full-time faculty members, Professor Boninger participates in a vibrant academic community supporting 31 Ph.D. candidates and 255 undergraduate majors, and contributes to department-sponsored events including the BC-MIT Number Theory Seminar and Algebraic Geometry Northeastern Series.
