Josefa Velasco Garcia

Josefa Velasco García is a full Professor at the University of Murcia's Faculty of Biology, Department of Ecology and Hydrology. She specializes in aquatic ecology, focusing on freshwater biodiversity, limnology, and the impact of environmental changes on ecosystems. Her research groups include the Aquatic Ecology team and the Inland Water Ecology network. She earned her doctorate in 1989 with a thesis on the colonization processes of artificial environments by aquatic insects in the Iberian southeast.
