Jose Manuel Almansa Moreno

Jose Manuel Almansa Moreno is a Professor of Art History at the University of Jaén, affiliated with the Department of Patrimonio Histórico. His research focuses on Historical Heritage, Mural Painting, Colonial Art, and Architectural Restoration, with particular emphasis on Andalusian and Viceroyal American contexts. He leads projects like the Pintura mural andaluza en la Edad Moderna seminar and contributes to UNESCO World Heritage studies for Úbeda and Baeza.

Collaborations include work with the Quadratura research group (HUM.647) and the Institute of Giennense Studies. Current projects analyze 17th-century calcographic prints and Baroque iconography in Andalucía, with a focus on popular art forms and material conservation practices.
